right so i finally got round to taking everything off the frame with a little help. Took it to evans they said everything would be fine but would take a few months to get sorted. However i got a phone call yesterday and now because i didn't buy it from them (got it in a bike shop in NYC) they want me to pay the shipping which is £150 and then there is no guarantee that Bianchi will replace it.
Kind of fair enough i suppose but fucking annoying none the less. So the frame is only worth about £200 and they might not replace it at all.
I call bullshit on evans' part.
Just got off the phone with Bianchi's UK distributor, they said that all the customer or shop would have to pay for this situation would be shipping of the frame to the distributor (£20-30?), and even that is only because the initial transaction was not dealt through the UK distributor (having been purchased in the US - had this been purchased through a UK shop, it would be the onus of that shop to cover shipping). From there on out the distributor should handle all dealing/shipping between themselves and Bianchi.
