its not about getting my 60 quid back really. i dont want to keep the bike because obviously that way i would be supporting the bike theft...

Isn't paying £60 supporting the bike theft either way? he did complete his task after all (stealing and selling).

must point out that despite this, I do admire your intention, it was nice of you to try and find the owner despite losing £60.
