Same here, but more like late eighties onwards, when I was actually skating, VSW, Air Walk and to certain degree Vans were the only shoes you would rock back then.
From the '90's it was all about the AJ's and the Air Max's (at least where I lived).
Just to give you a fair picture of Portugal in late 80's, early 90's... if it was out and about here, and in the US... it would take us (at least) 3 to 4 years to catch up. Anything.
Unless you could travel abroad, which means back then, your parents were doing waaayy above the average.
Airwalk was distributed by a company that were friends with my parents, that meant some goodies in the bag and lots, and lots of new friends at school :D.
Life was so simple back then...
