Foot retention

Posted on
  • Do most people on here ride fixed with pedals and straps? I would like to fit SPD clipless pedals to my fixed gear bike. Is the a sensible and usable method of foot retention?

  • Dude, the forum police are coming to drag you away RUUUUUUUN!!!!!

  • It depends what sort of riding you do.

I use SPD's for most of my riding but if i'm only popping into town for some beers where i'll be spending alot of time off the bike i'll use straps.

  • seeing as it only takes 2 minutes to changes pedals...

clips and straps for the shops, speedplays for any distance riding/training.

  • SPD are winnar unless you're going shopping or going out. For general riding they're great.

  • I wear very thin-soled plimsolls which enable me to grip the pedals with my toes

  • My pub/shops Trek District has clips and straps, platform pedals and mudguards.

My Litespeed has none of those things.

  • Adscan, you just answer your own question.

make sure the cleat are single release and not the multi release one.

  • For the love of God.
