What about Central as well?

I'm game for Central, but Friday night in town could be a nightmare. Boggle and I were talking about more Sam Smiths pubs as well, which could be an option.
I love the Bricklayers Arms in Tot Ct Road, but it's tiny and i don't think there is safe lock up there.

I'm sure everyone has their fave post work pub, so maybe it would be nice if people share their local knowledge. I for one and up for diversifying my watering holes.

There is a sammy smiths near me (Barts hospital, Barbican) - the rising sun. Fence to lock to out front. Its a bit dinky though, so we'd need a few early bums on chairs to secure some space.

What's the deal with Sammy Smiths?

My work local is the Wilton Arms, on Kinnerton St. Ideal if it's warm as you just stand outside, no need to lock up bikes. Dunno about food, but it's a great meet point for moving on.

Alternatively The Grenadier, but it's like Paris-Roubaix to reach and up a private Mews St, wonderful location.

Both near Hyde Park Corner.

Sam Smiths are an independant brewer, even their mixers are 'home brew'
it basically equates to awesome cheap drinks, change from a tenner for a round.
They are also guaranteed to have no loud music or football/big screens

The Angel is a good sam smiths on the river just where Bermondsey turns into Rotherhithe, and fairly roomy.

The Cardinal round the back of Westminster Cathedral is a good sized Sam Smith's pub that's fairly central. There's lots of railings thereabouts too.

Cardinal closed at mo for refurb ( I know - it's my post-work local). Lots of railings - but no proper outside space, so you're on the pavement.

Fleet Street? If we can find somewhere to lock then that could be a go-er. I seem to remember the last time I was there, having to walk about 2 streets away to find any locking..but maybe I was being blind.

^^ yeah good pub, but probs not for bikes (as you're downstairs in the dark and gloomy poorly lit little alcoves sans windows to the outside world - my kind of place).

I don't know if there is something in your world that is equivellent, but there simply aren't that many girls in the world (let alone in London) that are into bikes. It was great to sit around a table of women and chat shit about bikes.

Is this something you have a desperate problem with? Are you worried about what we are getting up to? If you really have to know I don't think anyone would be having a problem with you popping by for a quick one just to make sure no one has mentioned how small it really is...

There's also the Cittie of York on Fleet St - nice Sam Smiths, gets full of bankers on a Friday night though.

Personally, I'd +1 for the Bricklayer's Arms, nice and comfortable and there's usually somewhere to sit upstairs.

For the record, I have no problem with you drinking with the 'just women crowd' and have no intentions of joining you but it's a bit counter-productive to segregate any group, be it by gender, race, class or whatever and I was just light-heartedly suggesting an alternative that would enable you all to join the forum masses for a drink. Frankly, the suggestion that women are somehow unable to integrate themselves and mix-it with the men is a bit 19th century and only serves to perpetuate the inequality of the sexes.

Any Sam Smith's venue with good bike parking sounds great to me! If the Minge Binge does happen I guess I need to train for it too :-).

Absolutely heaving on a Friday night at post -work time...there's also the Fitzroy Tavern just off TCR which is bigger than the Princess Louise but I'm guessing also heaving on a Friday night.

Are Wetherspoons out of the question - just thinking on a budget tip and some aren't completely vile, especially if you're in a big group.

Fitzroy is great but deffo heaving on Friday. Nowt wrong with wetherspoons (apart from the food) - also less likely to be full of ra-ra's on a Friday night.

The Spoons on Farringdon road near the station ain't too vile. Its big and central.
