I call up asking for a Fast Friday courier delivery (xmas presents for self from their sale), for some reason my central London postcode is not recognised for this service.

They call back to check what time I will be in the office, I reply that I have to catch at train early afternoon tomorrow so will be leaving the office at 12:30, the person then says "Actually I meant today, we want to deliver it to you today!"

To top it all off, they are offering free standard delivery on orders until the end of the year, but waive the courier charges for this order.

How to buy my brand loyalty!

  • How to buy my brand loyalty!

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

  • glad to amuse

  • Wiggle, for refunding my priority delivery charge when I called up at 1pm to find out where my bike was.

It hasn't turned up yet, and is sitting in city links depot in reading, about 5 miles from me.

I can't see it being dispatched tonight, better be tomorrow or I'm cancelling the order and going to a real shop.

    Sooo fustrating.

  • Stuff from Rapha arrived in under 2 hours.

Thankfully they don't use Max to deliver

  • Get fucked. I'd love to see the look on your face when I beat you in an alleycat!

  • I was about to edit my untoward comment, sorry Max.

I do remember our day trip with Murtle.

  • Do you remember the bike I was riding?

    Serious handicap

  • But you said it fitted you.

  • Haha, I was just embarassed that I spent £300 on a fancy low pro that was too small.

  • My finest maxcrowe impression above.

    Wests tonight?

    for posterity

  • Hmm, yeah why not? See you later

  • As you have turned into such a proponent of smoking, do you still pass out when you mix it with booze?

Am still not doing either so am not planning to ponce off you. I may even buy you a pint - if you promise not to hurl it back at armitage shanks half an hour later.

  • Ha, you'd be very welcome if you weren't on the wagon.

What time are you going to the pub?

  • I think about 8ish

  • Garmin

So the joystick on my two year old 705 broke. They wont repair it, but will send out a brand new replacement for 100 quid. Costly but better than having to buy a new one.

  • I went to evans at the cut today to get my old cottered bottom bracket removed. It took about 5 mins and the very nice mechanic came down with my bike and said he'd usually charge £28 but was feeling especially kind and gave it to me for free on the condition that i bring him in some bourbon biscuits.

I find everyone at that evans very helpful and friendly.

  • good to hear. cos most other evans staff i've come across behave like a bunch of overly self regarding supermodels, refusing to so much as get out of bed to glance at your bike before 30 quid is on the table.

That's the way I do it.

  • Montane sports clothing = great product and service.

    Me last Friday:

Hello, I purchased a Montane Featherlite Velo H2O Waterproof Cycling Jacket in the summer for a ride I did from London to Paris. The jacket was brilliant, and still is. Whilst on the ride I managed to lose my Stuff Sac that came with the jacket and this week whilst out on a ride someone suggested I contact the manufacturer. My question is, are you able to sell me a new Stuff Sac for my jacket please? Thanks for reading and any assistance you can provide. Regards

    Montane today:

Thank you for your enquiry. We don’t keep specific sacks but if you give me your address I’ll send as close a match as possible to you in the post free of charge.

    Regards

  • Shout out for the nice man from Practical Cycles on eBay (http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/practicalcyclesuk/). I ordered the wrong size brake lever (cause I'm an idiot), and they were happy to refund or exchange it. Most importantly, they replied to every message I sent them within a couple of hours. Helpful people.

Also, +1 to Brick Lane Bikes, the guys in there really put the effort in to find the perfect seat post for my oddly sized frame. And they bodged me up a seat post nut/bolt pin for free because the proper pins were too long. Friendly shop, full of beautiful things - I feel compelled to return there and buy everything.

  • Rob at Sargent & Co for being a top bloke with great bikes and doing a deal because he knew how much i needed the bike and would love it daily.

  • I had a pair of Mission Workshop Rondells, and I had a problem with the stitching on the inside.

    Contacted Shop14. No Reply.
