I prefer that position though, we all have different limb lengths or whatnot, I think I may have a long torso/arms and shorter legs, you may be the other way around, or it might indeed be just because it's a new position.
I agonize over stuff like that, like I said it took a week of riding before I was happy to cut the steerer down.
