I was waiting for that.
Drivers mother is under the impression its my fault as apparently I was riding on the pavement. [SARCASM] Yepp... jumping curbs at 15mph on a lugged track bike on a busy wilmsrow road footpath, sounds very likely [SARCASM]. I hope my knog is still on whats left of my handlebars so I have evidence I had lights on. I'll just wait for the police report.
well if she's being a cunt about it, no your lights won't still be on the bike. i thought the driver was being alright about it, admitting fault

I'm sure they will be. If they are not then mention to her that it is tampering with evidence, which with it an additional punishment for both her and her son

How fucked Rory? i didn't see it :-(. The police just said I definatly wouldn't be riding it again. By the sounds of it its totaled, mabye a rear wheel and a seatpost left to salvage. apparently i smashed the car window and put a pretty big dint in the door. Hopeful I can get a replacement with insurance and such. The chap that was driving was very apologetic and said hes getting me a new nice bike...... hopefully. ( I was thinking about a new BJ)
The car was coming on the opposite side of the road towards me then took a quick right turn into my lane. next think I know theres a fecking car right infront of me, first thing that went through my head: "FUCK! Im not wearing a helmet" SLAM. didn't have time to brake. However I'm sure it will get sorted, he seemed okay, admitted to the police it was completly his fault and admitted to drinking, I think he must have been just under the limit as I think he sqwaid if he'd drank anymore he'd be in big trouble. A pretty stupid think to say infront of a person you could have killed with bad driving.
Anyhow to the less important business: I got away with many cuts and bruises, a jaw that feels like i've just taken a huge punch, a few stitches underneath my chin and a ruptured ligiment in my shoulder. I spent fecking hours on a spinal table thing MRI was so busy. they're very uncomfortable after just 10 mins, feels like your heads being pushed up against a wall for ages and your heads in a vice.
Edit: if you're competing in next weeks alleycat your lucky, I'm out.
fuck man, that sounds bad, you're lucky to be alive! get better soon matey. -

Thanks, I think its something the police will have checked anyhow. Was still there when I picked it up earlier.

get your own thread! :-P
I have pics of my bike, I'll upload them when I find my USB cable. its surprisingly less damaged than I thought, still most thinks that I expected to be are fooked, just not as bad as I imagined. forks look possibly reuasable and the front wheel is in one piece and still spins inbetween the brake pads, however its still egg shaped and fooked. (thanks(ish) to turning slightly before I hit(I think)) the frame took most of the damage, top tube is actually crumpled quite straight and down tube is just compleatly bent. RH crank and ring is broken and bent and theres a rip in the saddle, tire and tube ripped.
I DEMAND NEW MERCIAN AND SUGINO 75s!

your wheel was true, now its not, so you get a new wheel, and don't accept "possibly reusable" forks, get it all new, It's only form their insurance afterall

Globs mate got hit by a car recently and the insurance gave him enough to buy a new trackbike and a £1400 carbon roadbike!

I said only possibly reuable; Im sure after my knowlegable local bike shop checks it out they'll find that for is bent and totally unstructurally sound.

was this resolved?
yepp :-) you cant get them miche cranks anymore right? need to be sugino 75s now.
Hopefully it will just come down to claiming off his insurance and hes just told his mother some pork pies so he doesnt get into as much trouble, not just a duche trying to get away with trying to kill me and my bike.
I think the police report will show it all, if he had been drinking and the police were there when he admitted it was all his fault I dont think he'll have a leg to stand on.
