I put a big cable tie (30cm one) around the back of the pedal, and then cut the excess off, so you're left with a little nugget to grab and flip the pedal.

Super tough, stays put (if you do it up tight enough).

Pedal before (with MKS Pedal Flips which are admittedly for quill pedals):

MUCH better with the cable ties, it's flippable at speed much like a traditional double strap setup.
