FFS.. I just don't understand why you cannot lock a bike to a railing..
oh you know, 'damage' to the ancient old railing, taking up spaces, health and safety reason and all that.
what bother me is the H&S, it's not a good idea to lock bicycle to railing but fine for parked vehicles to take up less space so an ambulance struggle to go through Warlour Street?
I have to lock my bike outside 15 metres away from the door, because I'm not allowed to lock it to the railing, neither and I allowed to leave it in the hallway (despite being very wide enough for hippy to go through even with a bicycle with a 61cm handlebar), which fair enough, endangered the other resident if something happen.
but man, really annoying that I have to leave it outside every night, not going to lose my deposit bringing up the heavy damn thing up and down the tiny staircase.
