Wanted: Chris king uk retailer

Does anybody know of any uk retailers that will stock silver 2nut headsets? unfortunately Chain Reaction decided to only stock them in pink and pewter and aspirevelotech in the US say they are going to be out of stock for some weeks. Annoying.

Got my 1" threadless from BC*. Those guys rock.

*I'm talking about Brixton's famous Brixton Cycles.

Hmm Winstanley Bikes appear to sell a threaded 1" but they dont say if its a 2nut or a Gripnut also the picture next to it is of a threadless headset which doesn't fill me with much hope.

So what's wrong with Brixton Cycles? Or have you chosen to ignore Skully's excellent advice? Hmmm?

Nothing wrong with Brixton cycles at all apart from the fact they are in Brixton and i'm not in London. How much was your threadless in BC Skully? the way things are looking i might have to try and plan a trip.

Thanks for all the suggestions, unfortunately still no luck. Contacted BC they dont have any, spoke to a couple of my LBS and they said that their suppliers dont have any and probably wont be getting any. Can't find any interent sites that have any in stock. Am i missing something? Chris King boycot of the UK? or are they just slowly stoping the production of threaded headsets?

Sorry BC didn't deliver - I recommended them as they happened at the time to have the slightly unusual 1" threadless I needed.

What I don't get is, why on earth haven't any of these bloody shops you're approaching said to you:

"No, dear prospective customer, I don't happen to have that expensive product in stock right now, but I'll do what it takes to get you one from our wholesaler pronto"? I mean, don't bike shops survive on parts, excessories [sic] and servicing rather than complete bikes?

Tho' your best best is probably here... Free shipping and they will mark the package down so you don't pay charges... I got a black Soto Voce from them a coupla years back, no probs...

Total Cycling only have it in black which would be a bit of a fail with the rest of the bike. I am currently in the process of getting hold of BLB to see what they say.

Unfortunately Aspirevelotech are out of stock of both the gripnut and 2nut in silver and wont be getting any in for some weeks they say. That time added to the time it's going to take to get from america = A very long wait. might be the only option though, that or deciding on another headset.

Aspire seem to be closely linked to CK, so if they cant get one it probably means other shops will be struggling.

Annoyingly BLB sold their last one today.

I had been thinking about that campag headset its just the black " RECORD" branding looks so ugly. Do you think this could be removed?

Thanks, just spoke to them and apparently there has been a shortage for months. Looks like it might be time to choose another headset.

Have tried emailing Chris King directly and twll em what you've been through. That or Craigslist.
