Audiophiles hifi appreciation thread old and new

I'm looking for a surround sound system for my impending new tv... is this the right place to ask for suggestions?

no. Surround systems are crap value (unless you're absolutely loaded), spend the money on a decent two-channel and upgrade later if you really want surround sound.

Great sound and upgradable if you do want the sub / rears etc.
Also, as the speakers are bi-wireable, you can set the AVR to bi-amp and it produces really rich bass as well :)
