Thought about it and I know it's vain, but I hate the look of time attacks on my 70's/80's style tracks. I'd go for Eggbeaters but I saw a dude unclip once and it didn't look fun :) Something I'll consider though. Any suggested pedals that would suit an all silver component bike?
Race style MTB shoes and conventional pedals are not a great idea - the studs on the sole always seem to be in exactly the wrong place relative to the pedal cage plate, so you get an effect like an old school slot cleat but invariably in the wrong place, plus they catch on the plates when you're trying to pull your foot out of the toe clip, and the Velcro straps on top snag on your clips/straps.
Thats kinda what I thought and what my issue was with them in theory. The gap where the cleat was looked like it would be uncomfortable on longer rides and the "knobbles" would be problematic...
