Alienmo
I had a think about your plight last night and remembered a load of tools which my father in law left me. Came to work this morning and sure enough I discover I have a small electric angle grinder. It's a 600w 115mm job with no decent disks on it. I'm in mile end and you're more than welcome to borrow it if it's not too late and you've headed south already. I'll PM you my phone and you can txt / bell me if you want to. -

Anyone else getting this weird dyslexia shit

I went to a party before Christmas where a burlesque dancer did a turn with an electric guitar and an axle grinder. If you would like, I will try and get her details.

Those SAGA holidays are fucking wild!

• #156
They are certainly wild but the adjectival side is out of the question without chemical assistance.

:D
I failed, miserably.
Tough as nails, how do they cut through those locks in seconds!!??
I put all my weight on those things and it hardly scratched....Technique.

The saga of the grinder continues! The first one found was deemed unfit for human use, so I've managed to borrow another one which I will use tomorrow...

Alienmo, Wednesday dibs, if you have no joy tomorrow. I've got one that may do. (haven't tried a tough job yet) and haven't piped up yet because of the geography. Keep posting.

If you can carry it, and have some proof of ownership, second the fire station advice. Just take some biscuits along.

Hellooooo! The bike is now free! Found an angle grinder that worked and it took about 30 seconds. After all that. But the relief is huge.
Thank you so much again everyone. You're all great and making me wonder why I ever stopped reading this forum.

It's true about the fire station though..........I am one and most of the blokes I know would be more than happy to help as a lot are cyclists anyway......
You may well have to sign a disclaimer of sorts as well, ours is called a K433b.....Cakes.....a lot of good work is done for cakes

If I managed to angle grind my own lock in 30 seconds I think I'd just end up a bit depressed as I realised just how easy it was to get through rather than massively relieved.
still at least you can ride it again now.

Another request for an angle grinder. I broke the key in my girlfriends mini-fag as I was sorting stuff out in our shed. I can collect most evenings this week and can provide suitable alcoholic compensation.

I have a mains operated 600w 115mm one. My studio is next to mile end stadium and I'll be late at work tue, wed and Friday this week. You'd have to get yourself some disks for it as I'm all out by the looks of it. You're welcome to borrow it.

To start I am going to throw it out there.... im a moron.
Locked my bike up at work this morning and then went to a conference which I some how managed to loose my keys at. No idea how or where. I also cant find any of the serial number details anywhere. I am sure i possibly put it somewhere 'safe', which happens to be too safe that I cant find it.
Its a Kryptonite mini D, and the bike is in the garage at my work. I was wondering if anyone in the area (shoreditch / hackney / angel / kings cross) has a grinder I could borrow or they wouldn't mind coming with me to get it off. I am prove it my bike as the security gaurds will let me into the garage and I have the spare key for the abuse which is also locking it up.
My offices are right near kings cross station on york way next to the gaurdian offices. I would pay who ever comes to my rescue in love, drink and a few bob.
Thanks

Kryptonite locks come with 3 keys...where are the other 2?
-
• #172
Yeah the spare keys and all paper work was put some where 'safe' whilst moving house multiple times and surf surfing for awhile. Now I cant seem to locate them. They aren't in the filling box I thought they were.

As soon as I posted that, I realised how unhelpful it was..that you'd probably already discounted that option!
Hope someone can help. If you search some similar threads there have been incidents of people getting the fire brigade into help. Good luck!

Cheers, Yeah I would feel a bit like I was wasting their time so would like to try and do it myself or with someones help. If not im hoping maybe building maintenance might have something on monday morning.

Hi Glyn
I am close to York Way at top end - just off Hungerford Road, have an angle grinder you can borrow no problem. Call if you like, am pedalling home now - from Chiswick... 07896 921115 Simon
I have to say this is, in my experience, spot on!
Though they might insisted you can prove ownership.
Just go knock on the door.
