Go for the Gangsta, having seen and rode the Killroy, it's indeed a pure trick bike, the frame is pretty heavy despite being well made, just look at the sheer size of the fork;
The Gangsta were based on an old english track frame i.e. a mixture of track and road (otherwise known as a path racer), so it's more suited to everyday riding, people only start using it for trick as it was a strong frame, but the fork wasn't designed for such thing.

Cheers Ed, my gut feeling was always with the Gangsta so I'm happy you confirmed it! I'm gonna keep on searching for a while and if nothing comes through then look into the V2. I'll def be in touch with you about trying your rig out though if that's still ok once I shovel my way through all the exam study! Cheers yet again..

Thought I link this here. When I was looking for V1 and started to consider V2 and the size between S and L; I did this. Comparing 46cm V1 to L size V2. V1 with outlines and V2 with grey color.

I like that Lars, cheers. Not really that great a difference in the end either.. A V2 is starting to look like a possibility :) Ta

There's little difference beside the obvious top tube length, of which they (quite rightly) measure them as.
mine is the 55cm one.

it does have tight angle, but doesn't felt quite like a track frame, hence 'path racer', how did you find this out BTW?

[QUOTE=edscoble;1881815]it does have tight angle but doesn't felt quite like a track frame/QUOTE]
Beacause it does not "have tight angle".

• #35
you sure? it have quite a toe overlap.
-
• #36
Are we talking about the Gangsta here? 72.5/73.5 and and 72/73, as stated above in the picture Lars Erik kindly provided.
-
• #37
yes, gangsta here and there's quite a bits of toe overlap on mine.
-
• #38
MAX you're killing me with the size here!! I'd be on it like a rash but think it might be that bit too small for me :( what height are u so I can compare? Cheers mate
Sorry, aimed at MAX....
how right would the money have to be?
Just have the feeling a 40cm Gangsta would be my perfect One bike.
-
• #39
Don't forget that the 40cm have a 56cm TT.
-
• #40
assuming thats aimed at me? I'm 175 cm in height. Reasonably normal proportions. I ride a 54cm Fuji track right now with 100mm stem & drops and zero offset seatpost. I'm reasonably comfy on the hoods. I know this is the perilous area of interwebz bike fit but I'm pretty sure a small Gangsta would suit.
-
• #41
yes it aimed at you, the original gangsta have an awkward top tube sizing, the 40cm have a 1cm longer top tube than the 46cm one.
90mm stem and you'll be fine.
-
• #42
Did you buy the bike form MAX in the end then lowpug? Am seriously jealous if you did :)! I did find a Launchpad but managed to resist (for now....!)

no it doesnt

Effective TT is 1cm longer in the 40cm model than the 46cm, but actual is vice versa...

• #46
i reckon thats wrong
-
• #47
It could be, why not find out?
-
• #48
there's something about it being wrong in the main brooklyn thread. i've got the 50 and that feels like a 56 to me
-
• #49
56tt?
-
• #50
yes
Ed, that's awesome and extremely appreciated, thanks! I'll be in touch about that then (tonnes of exam study atm..) and of course I'll have to get you back for it after (beers/coffees?!).
Just quickly OT and not wanting to start a big discussion what's thoughts on the Gorilla Kilroy? Pure trick bike? And would people rather a Gangsta or Kilroy?
Yet again thanks!
