The crane climb makes me feel worse than anything else in this thread.
Pull ups!? SERIOUSLY? -

YouTube - 1,109 ft Macau Tower mast climb - to the top!
Thank God he's wearing a helmet.

I can't even begin to comprehend the skill of these people. Like my Mrs said when I was watching it imagine how they climb down from there in bad weather, rain wind.
I can't believe how high this is either. The effiel tower was high enough and that's a huge structure but this is just a huge poll pointing towards the sky.

Thanks for the link back to the Youtube clip of the tower climb.
That was fucking insane. I respect someone with total belief in their abilities, and a healthy disregard for the consequences of something out of their control fucking it all up. Like a squall of gusting wind and rain.

Watching the addictive tower climbing video reminded me of today's news story, about the woman who is afraid of nothing:
Wonder how she'd feel doing a couple of laps of the Elephant & Castle roundabout in rush hour, then a quick spin over Tower Bridge and back?

This is no way as intense as the tower videos but I like this photo I took back towards where I came from on the way to Monta Rosa in 2007. I probably wouldn't have stopped falling/ragdolling for a good 4,000 feet if I had slipped. I particularly like the Eagle that has managed to sneak his way into shot far below.
Not sure I could put myself on top of a those towers though. In some ways it would be safer to climb them than mountains but I still feel sick from watching those videos so I'm not sure I would have the balls. The wind must be horrendous with no natural shelter.

There is nothing to fear going over Tower Bridge providing you stick to the road.

I know exactly what you mean. I can't stand being in tall buildings, but will happily hike/ climb a mountain.
Or drop an explosive charge on an avalanche slope. Or take a nasty Patrol route through the pinnacles on mt. Ruapehu. That was fucking terrifying. Crampons on, cutting steps, my mate going for a slide- he got so lucky, and then cutting a platform to put skis on on an ice field.
Good times though, when your stomach is in your mouth.

I'm shit scared of flying but will happily hang off a frozen ice wall. Weird how the brain works.
And for the record, I have an irrational fear of the Elephant roundabout too.
-
• #118
Is the elephant roundabout the massive one that you have to time just right or end up in shit?
-
• #119
Its reputation is far worse than it actually is. It can get a bit hairy if you're not confident and sad to say that it has had its fair share of accidents.
