Hi mate, yep the rims are for tubs and the rear hub is 130mm. you can fit a freewhel spocket on no probs.....

Am I right in saying that 130mm spacing and made for a screw on block is a bit of a weird coupling?

I'm not sure really mate, normal road spacing is 126mm (I think) and these fit into both of my 126 frames no problem......
