It's a quid for 24 hours of riding. A bus is £2-ish a journey.
I used these bikes 3 times over the last weekend when I was going into town and didn't want to leave mine locked up and they were a godsend. Over 2 days that would have cost me £6 on the bus, or twice that on the tube.
The only gripe I have with them is that you can't use an oyster card with 'em. As a casual user it takes a few minutes to enter your card details and agree to all the terms and conditions.
