No, that's genius. Those Magura Space Bar things to mount lights on a £20 or so. With that, you just tip the bars back, and mount all your lights, pooters and other cack on the front bit, and still have room for a bar bag on the integrated rack.
Could not be more full of win. Bars need to be on other way round though, so they point up when in the "swept position".

I still love that Eddy Merckx,
Me too! I love the frame and even the flatbar doesn't spoil it for me. Maybe it's because the paint scheme reminds me of my Bat Pro?

Ed, you shouldn't really be admitting on here that you don't track stand at the lights.
-
• #14490
That's so sweet of you to says I don't trackstand and look like a prat while doing so.

What about me trackstanding at the lights on a freewheel (Nexus 7) sit-up-and-beg trekking commuter with huge pannier bags? Ultimate hipstership, innit?

people who trackstand with freewheels are just trying too hard.
people who then brag about it on the internet are trying even harder.
-
• #14494
I do it out of habit. And so that I don't ruin my overshoes pushing off
-

It's just as easy as on a fixed wheel if you have access to the front wheel (no mudguards/fenders/whatever). And yeah, I do it out of habit, too. Makes it easier to start more quickly in traffic while boycotting poor side paths.

• #14496
trackstanding on lights on my setup is mostly quicker and more confortable than remounting all the time. If someone think its too 2008/9/embarassing I dont care that much.
-
• #14497
are you people actually taking my comment seriously?

Why not? The "trying too hard" argument is a perfectly sensible one. Not.
-
• #14499
If I see someone trackstanding while dressed like this I'd think he's trying too hard. If I see someone else do it at an appropriate time and it's actually functional I can't fault them for it. -

repost?
despicable.
