27x1" tyres where are they?

It seems to me impossible to locate 27x1" tyres these days. No one seems to stock them either shops or the internet. They are still made by Panaracer but unavailable in the Uk. Plenty of 27x1 1/4 (even Halfords stock them!) But no 27x1. Can anybody help me please?

If so I never had much bother getting continental ultra sports in that size.

No, not 27 x 1 1/4" plenty of those about. I mean 27 inch only! Very hard to find in the Uk and no luck even on Ebay! I need a pair so as to get the old bike on the road once more, haven't used it in over 25 years and the original 27" tyres are perished!

I got a pair of 27 x 1 1/8 (630-28) tyres from sjs last summer (Panaracer PASELA TourGuard Kevlar Folding). I was fed up with getting punctures every week from the cheapo 27 x 1 1/4 tyres I got from Halfords. I fancied trying 1 inch, but as you've also found they are hard to find. The Panaracers are great; comfortable, good grip, the amber wall looks great on my Raleigh Pursuit and excellent puncture protection; it took a one inch long screw I went over on the canal path to stop them, no less. No bother before or after that.
One thing you should bare in mind though is, if the rims you are going to put them on are the old fashioned straight sided steel type you shouldn't inflate them past 80psi because they will slip off.

I know that Vredestein had 1" and 1-1/16" tyres, but actually they came out of the same mould. Same diameter.
Only for marketing reasons, the labels were different.
Vredestein's product manager can confirm that.

Maybe you'l give these a shot.
Or ask the seller to measure the actual diameter. Mario knows his stuff and has experience with selling abroad. Good price, too.

Yes they're impossible to get here now.

I have a pair of the panaracer which you can take off my hands, used but OK to ride I think. I think I bought some if the last of these available in the Uk last year... Mick Madgett had some, Spa had some, but now they're gone.

I'll check them over but I think they're OK. They're super narrow.

Oh, forgot to say: there's a seller in the US that sent some to Teenslain and I took some too. Thinknthe shop marked as low value or something to avoid tax.

The tear is small but a pain in the arse really. I live down in South East london, Not a lot of point busting a gut to meet up but I could leave them somewhere for you, do you ever go to the East End? My partner has an office in Brick Lane, you could collect them from there perhaps.

Is Aldgate East Tube station close by? If so I could come and collect them. Perhaps you'll let me know how much you'd like in payment.

Dewi, I've been having the same problems getting a skin wall 27" x 1 1/8 but found a pair in the on ebay but a bit pricey. I've also found a 27" x 1" again pricey but NOS, the ebay number is 350427267847 like the tyres I found though, they are in the States. Hope this helps, by the way try a TIRES rather than TYRES search and you'll see a few more pairs ! Good luck

Still the same problem now! I am tring to get 27x1 Panracers (or whatever is out there?) fitted by Sunday for a cycling featival. My bike is a 1956 Hetchins Curly.
