My Raleigh Phantom (circa 1980?) purchased off the eBay for some Polo abuse,
Now SOLD in favour of ANYTHING else.. which for a while was my borther's Townsend with Alu wheel disks..which in turn has been religated in favour of a Punk Pink SE Draft Lite which looked like this:
and now looks like this (now fitted with Shimano flats, waiting for lower gearing, a shorter stem and a better saddle).

Simple - Did the punk pink SE get any action today?
Danwentsking - glad the ice melt was with you..still having polo withdrawal...no polo until next Sunday...

Yep Lucas - it's pretty nice as it goes actually. Gearing + shorter stem = sorted.

My klunkers!
My first conversion! Now gone to be converted back to geared by its original owner!!
I sold him the frame back to purchase this OLMO From sprockets any Info on this bike warmly appreciated I know nothing of it or its history bought as a single speed frame has no braze ons.
Currently being stripped for a repaint and alloy polish session!!
This is my girlfriends Kalkhoff I rescued lovely old shopping bike and saved me having to repaint her last bike Green!
My daily Commuter! Yes she has gears but to be frank all I have done over the winter is squirt oil at them and no problems thus far despite the much mallingned Helicomatic rear hub!
And finally my latest little project I picked up this old Dawes frame for next to nothing on evil Bay Hop to make a nice little cruiser... Think Moustach bars and Whitewalls!!
Cheers.

I did a similar thing with a brand new DT swiss rim. It was a very good rim but I didnt like the grey powder coat colour, so I nitromors, sanded and then polished it up to a mirror like shine with the aid of Brasso.
But as one might expect, it quickly oxidised again. I buffed it a couple more times, but eventually got fed up. Now I just have an ugly wheel with no resale value.

@Dub - If you are after some NOS moustache bars I have a pair of Nittos that I bought a couple years ago and never fitted. They're to fit a mtb stem.
@SprintKing - I think it would be inadvisable for you to buy a car, because, with lessons insurance etc, it will cost you about £5k before you drive it anywhere with a further £2k a year insurance until you're about 20 - so about £13k without any driving. If you have that kind of money, or your parents put you on their insurance and the car is free (etc.) knock yourself out, but you'd stay in better race shape (q.v. the Cannibal) and save an enourmous amount of money by not driving. Why not buy/fix a folder and multi-mode?
@anyone - I'd post my bikes, but can't figure how to do it from flickr because I am far too stupid.

My camera skills are second only to my computer skills...
A totally inappropriate track bike - tubs, toe overlap and all:
Pompino, winter tyres (from last winter)
Revolution Courier Race (emergency bike)
I'll post the 70yo "lightweight" when i have an "after" picture to compare the "before" with. -

Such a delicate frame. If only one was any good at photography.
Anyhow while driving home daydreaming thinking I had best clear the garage out as my Missus is running out of patience with "our" Bike collection, Turning into the grove I almost crashed into the rag and bone man... As he pulled out I noticed a destinctive shape sticking out of his pick up!! So I had to give chase hopping that distinctive shape would just be some gas pipe abomination..... It was'nt...
Twas this!
Reynolds 531 tubing to boot.
Shame about this...
Now residing unceromoniously in my 1973 saabs engine bay in the Garage.
Sadly my old Saab is to rusty to repair so shall be going to the big car graveyard in the sky anytime soon.
allowing me to have my own dedicated Bicycle workshop.
My missus says i can have as many bikes as one can fit in the Garage. -

Possibly, as there are a couple random other Pompino riders about, but I do the cotteridge double roundabout twice a day.
@Belgian.
Nice Carlton!I forgot to add that I removed the freewheel (yes, with no rear brake) and replaced the front brake which had too long a reach to brake at the front. It's purely for sentimental value, used to belong to Shane - the late owner of the late Selly Cycles.

@dubmaster how much did you give him for it?
I saw an old road bike on a scrap lorry in Small Heath yesterday but he was too fast and heading the wrong way.

You overpaid! Ive had bikes off scrap men before and they were chuffed with £5 per bike AND they dropped them off to my 'yard. They only collect them for scrap metal you know.
