@Mr.Lunch - agreed.. they went to the trouble of lining up the cranks/front wheel

That new Van-Tuyl is fucking awful too, looks like some shit tribal tattoo

• #40854
I like that bike, apart from the decals and lack of seat to handlebar drop.

so if they crash the handle bars don't dent the top tube.
ahh thank you that does make sense then. Well i still think the bike is ugly

Hardly a ringing endorsement for something you just posted in the porn thread

True true, not porn worthy at all, but that panasonic should make up for it

^ this + front wheel + oversize downtube + bigger clearance makes back wheel + narrower stays look smaller (even though deep rim). Black ahead stem and spacers with retro half taped shiny handlebars and a crap plastic rear light and terrible logo.
I don't normally criticise bikes, but it's not very nice. -

Except that I don't like deep rims with shallow-rim spoke counts. Once you get to 40mm+ on the rim depth, 24 spokes or fewer please.

• #40863
any better sir? -
• #40864
I agree on the spokes. The wheels on the Panasonic look like they should be on a MTB with discs.

flextastic rear triangle. Presume it rides okay but certainly goes against what one would assume!

Yep, unless you're a fixie trickster throwing your bike off stuff, its silly. A box section rim with 32/28 bladed spokes would be more aero, and a shed load lighter*.

Yes. Love this!
It has a quil seatpost (much like some BMC's), belt drive, and a reverse steerer set-up (steerer part of the stem, not the fork). I'm not sure these things add much to performance (apart from the belt obviously ;) ), but I love it any way.

Prolly a silly question in the porn thread, but how to change the bar position (spacers) without changing seat and steering angles?
Plus, I'm in favour of not-round steerer tubes. -

There is no Gijs van Tuyl porn.

Plus, I'm in favour of not-round steerer tubes.I guess you use spacers in much the same way as on a normal set-up (ie between the stem and the top bearing cap). As usual, you'll need to factor these in before chopping the steerer. If you're the sort of person that keeps some spacers above the stem for future adjustability*. Then there should be room for at least 15mm under the fork.
The example in the pic, is likely chopped to minimum steerer length for asthetics. Although most people dont need much in the way of spacers on a 29er.
(*as opposed to just for better clamping set-up)

reverse steerer looks trick until it gets full of crud and grime and the bolts seize up
I wonder where Zipp got the inspiration for their Vumaquad cranks...
