On subject of frame sizing and moving from one bike to another (current project related) I saw something on the Cervelo site about stack and reach measurements as alternative to trad frame measurements and then today on Velonews Leonard Zinn did a piece about the same thing.
Basically it's about measuring from the BB as the axis around which all your contact points rotate and by plotting left-right and up-down from that point. That way you can reduce and compare all the combos of TT and HT and fork clearance to get properly comparable geometries, and then move a fit from one frame to another.
