Perhaps it's to do with the number of rider they have?
-
• #928
I like the number. As you might have guesses. And I like bikes. I actually ride one myself.
So you'd think that it would be an almost obvious thing for me to like the fact that they are called 14 bike co, or EVEN that I would want a 14 bike.
BUT I DON'T. It actually upsets me.

Let me guess, you're fourteen years old?

No jussi, let me guess. You're a comedian?
Man, I thought this place was a nice place, for nice people.
No, I am not. I just happen to have a number obsession. Sad as that might sound.

• #931
You know, maybe it is because there are 14 riders in 14 bikes.

• #932
Thanks edscoble, kinda makes sense. If I'm around there at some point I will pop in and ask. And inform the forum accordingly of course...

• #939
you were inciting inter crew disharmony
clearly you wish the two groups to annihilate each other so you and the other fixie skidder juniors can come along and take over the turf

yeah, me and my southwest massive are going to come and screenprint some really boring t-shirts and make videos that include excess amounts of banter in some kind of vehicle.

The address of the shop is 13 Elys yard.
They were originally supposed to open up shop in 14 Elys yard, but that fell through, and the company name had already been registered. -

I have found both BLB and 14 to be awesome shops. Even the notorious Jan is always been helpful and friendly. I do however still have an air of elitism but to be honest I expect that going into any independent bike/music/clothing.... store.
Agree!
First few times I was browsing in BLB I got annoyed because of the snobbiness, but when I went in with a stripped track frame and they paid some interest in it I found them to be really friendly and totally helpful without trying to push any products on me. After that they've been really nice (especially Jan).TokyoFixed is my local though and the guys in there are wicked.

Did somebody say Southwest massive?! I am yet to convert the younger sibs who still live down there (Taunton/Yeovil sticks) to riding, let alone fixed. Too much grass, apparently

50% off all their clothing line. Hhmm sign of the times.
Or perhaps it's the number of very clever replies you'll post before you tell me?
But thanks anyway.
