I am stunned by the amount of thefts on here...I only use a kryponite on my Charge, locked through frame and an a wheel. Should I use more? The wheels on my bike aren't exactly quick release and I'm guessing clued up bike thieves realise that an OTF peg like mine isn't worth nearly as much as some custom/bespoke job?
IMO it's about what the thief can get rid of quickly. A conventional, new, clean OTP is very satisfactory to a bike thief. I don't think they particularly care if it has vintage Record hubs or whatever. Personally I employ a modified, less scatological Tynan method in addition to a good lock - dirt and surface rust ftw.
