• Unfortunately as with the rest of London, there are really nice, lovely, friendly, beautiful places, but once there's an estate nearby, it all goes tits up.

    There are good down to earth working class neighbourhoods, but you really need a dozen of dick heads to mess it up.

    Where I live, there used to be a notorious estate (something like Beaumont near Lea Bridge Rd). They knocked down the tower blocks and gave the land to the HA to build the terraces.
    All good. Unfortunately there's still the same mentality prevailing amongst some of the original re-housed folk (or rather the offspring - man dem).
    On my road is peace and quiet, apart from what we call a "half way home". An ex-warden, sacked for her relationships with inmates, brings all sorts to her house for drug binges. 99% of crime in the area originates from her house. I know it for a fact.
