Very impressed by how they managed to keep the bike in control despite having a taco'ed rear wheel (the cause of the epic skid).

I wonder how the track took that abuse and if they had to pick out carbon splinters from it.

Carbon is made of weaved 'ribbons', it doesn't splint. It fractures, and can just tear to bits
*Carbon fiber has very high tensile strength due to the carbon fibers encased in epoxy. If you pulled a piece of carbon fiber it will withstand a high degree of force before failure.
At the same time carbon fiber is succeptable to facture caused by impact. That is the reason many comsumer goods have a backing material in addition to the carbon fiber. This helps strengthen the carbon fiber in the "fracture department"...*

Ah right. Still gonna do some damage to the track. I guessed about the splinters because of the splinters I got in my hands with carbon weave. Worse than bloody fibreglass before the resin.

I hate being pedantic but whenever I see things like that or the park bench/barbecue 'bike' I wonder if they know what bi means...

Charlie Brookers Review of the Year 2010
I was worried that now he's happily married he would be less bitter, but no, no he's not. Also Doug Stanhope is like a human lemon, brilliant. -

Watch the signer in the bottom left demonstrate the sign language for hitler.
And I thought all those people do it to be offensive. -
