    Very nicely preserved Viscount Pro

Seat tube 58cm center - center
Top tube 57cm center - center

Sports/touring bike with a beautifully built, lugless frame. Paint job is looking very good over all, some tiny marks and surface rust on rear dropouts. Original centre pull brakes, Shimano 600 gears and chainset (will include pedals), Dura Ace hubs, Selle Italia Daytona saddle. Ample clearance and mounts for mudguards.

Comes with original 'death fork' so don't go cyclocrossing or freestyling with this one... for normal road use it is safe. However I will include this brand new chrome steel 1 piece fork so buyer has a choice.

More pics here (sorry - the 1st was out of focus so it's smaller)

    Yours for €215 including postage!!!!

  • death fork? please explain...

  • sorry for not explaining it I thought the heritage would be known amongst the Brits ;)

it was called that because it is a 3 piece construction held together with 2 bolts. Some more info on the bike and other vintage examples here:

    the fork story: http://www.classicrendezvous.com/British_isles/Lambert/Lambert_fork.html

  • i still don't think i like the sounds of a death fork...

  • I understand, but I thought I'd mention it before someone else did, and I really don't believe it will fall apart if you just ride the bike on the road.

  • in the pic at classic rendezvous its held together by 2 rolled steel pins, nice bike BTW

  • [strike]€240[/strike] ex postage - looking for alternatives for TNT - will update soon

  • love all the talk about DEATH FORKS....cervelo have had the same problem but no ones talking about it like with the lamberts (became viscount because of the deathfork tag)

  • Sheldon Brown himself, may he tour the heavens forever, has apparently ridden one for 8 years without any problem. More old news, thanks to knowthejo in the ebay/craigslist thread

I will search a suitable fork to include with this bike, to replace the 'scary' item should the buyer wish to do so.

  • do you have any pictures of said 'non-death fork'?

  • I have to acquire one first! but rest assured it will be a good solid steel one

  • this one:

  • I had a Viscount Aerospace, similar to this, for a while. It was a nice bike.

  • no fork problems I presume? hope that's not what is keeping people from buying this (budget!) vintage niceness

  • Apologies in advance for the distinct lack of a purchase offer but... could you tell me where you got that replacement fork from? I've got an Aerospace with the original two piece fork, and that looks a good match looks wise.

  • no problem I would be glad to help out, but I got it from a mate who got it out of an out-of-business-bike shop's new old stock
