Dibs on the Thompson if not yet sold, Hilary.
Hi everyone,
I’ve just sorted out another lot of interesting frames. Shipping on frames within the UK will be £11 - other items can ship free of charge in the same box. I can ship anywhere in the world at a reasonable cost.
ALL ITEMS ARE IN BRISTOL
Unless specifically described I do not guarantee headsets or BBs which are fitted to frames. With all frames I can fit headsets or BBs - headset fitting costs £12; please see my latest headset thread:
http://www.lfgss.com/thread53572.html
for details of what is available.
Payment can be via bank transfer (preferred), cheque or the dreaded Paypal which costs me 3%…
** If you dib an item, please PM me and pay the same day unless you make other arrangements with me. Otherwise it may well be sold to the next person who wants it...**
Viewing/Personal collection is welcome as quite a few have found and have been able to get other parts they are looking for at the same time.

JACK TAYLOR TOUR OF BRITAIN ROAD FRAME 1957
Seat Tube (ctt): 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 58cm (23in)
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C with brake drop of 66mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
The Taylor brothers were themselves road racers and their Tour of Britain frame was their top road race frame built with Nervex Pro lugs and Campagnolo dropouts. This frame originally built in 1957 was refinished by them in 1989 and has not been used since. Its in virtually mint condition with just one or two tiny marks... Refinishing to this standard these days would cost several hundred pounds. £325
CARLTON ROAD FRAME c1952 ** NEW AND UNUSED**
Seat Tube (ctt): 56cm (22in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm (22.25in)
Rear dropout width: 112mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C with brake drop of 60mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Its exceptionally unusual to find a New Old Stock ligytweight frame from nearly sixty years ago. This Carlton has never ben built up though the front forks have had a wheel fitted. The paint has a number of small marks - especially on the underside of the top tube and the most delightful and unusual box lining. Its built from Reynolds 531 double butted tubing. It would make a cool fixed or singlespeed conversion. £195
HARRY QUINN ROAD FRAME 1972
Seat Tube (ctt): 55cm (21.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.25in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 51mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Harry Quinn from Liverpool had an enviable reputation as a framebuilder and many of the frame builders from the north-west learnt their skills from him. This frame dates from late 1972 and is in very sound condition. The fastback/shot-in seatstays are a very distinctive feature of Harry Quinn’s work. It could easily be used as a very cool conversion. £95
RALEIGH RECORD ACE ROAD FRAME 1983
Seat Tube (ctt): 62cm (24.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: 27s or 700C with 60mm brake drop
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531C
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This Raleigh Record Ace road frame from 1983 is built from Reynolds 531C tubing and is in very good condition - for a tall rider it will make an excellent conversion or winter bike. £89
THOMPSON ROAD FRAME 1989
Seat Tube (ctt): 56cm (22.in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm (21.75in)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 51mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531C
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Andy Thompson built frames under his own name near Huddersfield before becoming Orbit’s framebuilder in the later 1980s - this frame seems to be from 1987. The paint is generally excellent and the frame does not have any dents or dings. It has an excellent Stronglight A9 headset. It would make an easy fixed or singlespeed conversion. £95
GIANT CFR ROAD FRAME c1999
Seat Tube (ctc): 54cm (21.25in), ctt 57cm (22.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C with brake drop of 45mm
Frame tubing: Carbon-fibre
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This Giant CFR bonded carbon-fibre frame I think dates from the late 1990s and is in excellent condition - no cracks and excellent paint withponly a few small marks. It has an excellent Shimano 105 cartridge bearing headset. With vertical droputs it is not suitable for fixed or singlespeed conversion unless a magic gear is found. £95
CHRIS PAULSON ROAD FRAME c1980 Reynolds 531SL
Seat Tube (ctt): 56cm (22in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 46mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Chris Paulson Cycles shop is in Rochdale - this frame is special enough to have been built in-house. Its built from the very light Reynolds 531SL tubing and this together with its other features dates to about 1978-80. The paint is in very good/excellent condition with just some rust spotsa on the chainstays being the most obvious marks - these I think wcan be improved with careful cleaning. With vertical droputs it is not suitable for fixed or singlespeed conversion unless a magic gear is found. £135
DENTON ROAD FRAME 1963 by Mercian
Seat Tube (ctt): 55cm (21.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 54cm (21.25in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C with brake drop of 60mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This frame was built by Mercian in 1963 for Dentons, a bicycle shop in Newcastle. It has the very distinctive Mercian seatstay wrapover which was introduced in the late 1950s and continued through to the late 60s. The paint and chrome are really rather good - there are some marks on the paint that can be cleaned off and it will then be a very attractive frame. It would make a very straightforward conversion. £135
FALCON COMPETITOR ROAD FRAME c1987 Reynolds 531C
Seat Tube (ctt): 57cm (22.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531C
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This is a very tidy and attractive Falcon road frame built from Reynolds 531C tubing in the mid to late 80s - the paint and decals are generally excellent. Its fitted with an excellent Tange headset. It will make a very easy singlespeed or fixed conversion. £89
FREDDIE GRUBB ROAD FRAME c1953
Seat Tube (ctt): 57cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm (22.25in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C with brake drop of 64mm
Frame tubing: Probably Reynolds 531 plain gauge
Seatpost size: 26.4mm
This Freddie Grubb road frame dates from the early 1950s and is in very sound useable condition. It will make an excellennt and straightforward cheap fixed or single speed conversion. £59
