26.2, or 26.0....why stop the marvellous process of elimination you have going??
I am having the same problem with a 1950's Claud Butler and have tried 27.2, 27.0 and am about to move on to 26.8 (you dont happen to want to get rid of the one you tried do you?? esp if it is black)
If that fails I will probably just break out a large mallet and smack the F'er until it goes in :)

If I remember well, it's 26.4mm. Not sure though.
All Trophy frames should have the same size, because they all have 3 main tubes Reynolds 531 plain gauge.
I could check the Champion Mondial ladies mixte in my garage witrh the same seat tube.
Also, Tour de l'Avenir has the same seattube.Perhaps 26.4mm seat post doesn't fit in your frame, because the lug/tube has been squeezed a bit. E.g. because someone has udes a seat post that was too thin.

Now confirmed: 26.4 mm.

just to say that reading the 1986 Gazelle brochure (many thanks) the Trophy frames are indicated as having 26.6 seat-tubes.

I've got the same problem, but have no spare seatposts to try it with. Give me a shout when you find out.
Does anyone know what a Gazelle Trim Trophy's seatpost size is?
I just got a Trim trophy frame & forks and I've tried a 27, 26.8 and 26.4mm and they are all too large.
cheers
