  • Does anyone have any skirting board experience?
I've pulled some off my back bedroom wall, so that a unit could fit flush in the space I wanted it to. I'd like to replace the board so there's not a hole in the wall. Can I get thinner skirting board? It's just wood isn't it? A thinner profile should be sufficient?

You need airflow behind furniture, removing the skirting is a bad idea.
