actually everything is fine, even with gears. the bike it will go in is an east-german fake dutch bike that I once got for free from a junkyard in berlin, it is quite narrow at the back, thats the reason for the <=120mm.
btw, coaster brake would be alright as well ;-)
btw, this bike is such a rat that it wasn't even stolen after hanging around in the street continuously for 5 months or so, secured just with a combination lock - but exactly that's why i like it.
