Friday and Saturday are usually good nights at most Six days, party crowd and lots of beer.
I think seats are better, especially if you want to watch the racing, even for a bit. Standing in the middle is fun, but you can't really see what's going on with the racing and you can get dizzy from trying to follow the action which, if you've enjoyed a beer or two, is not fun.
