Cass Arts seem to have everything permanently on sale, sometimes bulk packs (in Berwick St and Charing Cross Rd). Otherwise Atlantis is usually a bit cheaper than the others at full price (off Brick Lane).

Got my first roll from my Olympus Trip scanned, it was just a test roll of bog standard kodak 400 but I'm pretty happy, definitely seems like a camera I can get on with.

Terrible, terrible scans, but here are some test shots from my ghetto-pano-cropped Chinon CM-3...

Anyone here got a Polaroid? I've been using the PX 600 film, the silver shade is okay-ish but the colour ones are totally crap (as in, you can barely make anything out at all). Wasted a whole cartridge yesterday and didn't get a single viewable photo out of it, half of them were completely blank. Bit annoying as it's £2 a pop. Anyone got any tips? The camera and film is nice and warm, I've tried it with the light adjust set both to darkest and lightest, and I've been using a bit of cloth bluetacked to the front of the camera to shield it immediately.

Also got a Nikon F50 and a 1960s Regula Sprinty 'B'. Both are a bit naff but they're fun and I got them for free.

No. It's all about the composition, and the aspect ratio of the picture. You can see what you're getting through the viewfinder.

Advice for lae: Forget the polaroid, and use the 35mm cameras.

I've got the Polaroid for novelty value, not for serious photography. It's great fun at a party.

When you expose it, put it in a very dark bag without any kind of light getting through, the blue tint is barely enough to prevent the light from going through and overexposing the polaroid, like this;

In fact, have you not read the instruction when you get your polaroid?

Yeah I know how to use a Polaroid camera. Like I said, the b&w ones come out fine, just not the colour ones.

the colour version is quite fickle to get the hang of, it's usually take an hour for the colour to be fully matured, quite like the old SX-70 films of the time actually.

There's nothing to 'mature' on half of them though, just a plain blue square! I think I'll ask for a replacement pack of the colour stuff - seeing as the camera works and the silver shade works, I suppose it's not unreasonable to assume that there's something wrong with the film. If I can't get that pack to come out properly then I'll stick with the silver - it's too expensive to waste money experimenting with it (not that there are many settings to play with on my polaroid anyway).

Discussed earlier in this thread, but Yes, from what I know, it is still a very immature product. Much more development is needed to make it a reliable medium. If one cannot replicate one's own efforts using the same exposure factor, then the medium is faulty...all other values being constant, obviously.

After doing some searching I think my Ricoh GR1 is broken. I was pointed towards Camera City(any good?) but does anyone else know a place to get a P&S repaired in London.
