Assuming you can get the right colored spacers and it suits your build the X2 can look good especially with all the cut outs otherwise the Cinelli grammo is always a winner.

I've always found the 3TTT Evol quill stem to be very beautiful

I am after a beautiful stem. Must fit a 1inch fork with an Ahead (not threaded )headset so all that seem to be available is the MTB style clamp ons. Trouble is I want something that looks like a beautiful classic quill with a decent drop and I don't know if anything even exists. Found a conversion for the other way round - quill to clamp on but clamp on to quill? Help!

Are you going to quote every other post and highlight this bit of the opening post too?

I always like the Mutant 3ttt stem...both 1'' & 11/8 sizes - although still a bit bulky, nowhere near as 'dog bones' as the average mtb stem...

any stem can be made to* feel *beautifull if you say the right things and pay attention to it once in a while

Scant detail, like how it works, but this is apparently for 1" threadless steerers.

Bikesnob dissed it, therefore I hate it too.

hideous, and who wants to use a quill stem when an ahead will work better?

Looks a bit shit. Not the best eg, but a design along the lines of those old chatter lea HSs would have been better imo.
Either way, it's a bit pointless. If you want a quill get an old skool bike rather than one of these FOF NAHBS things.

why wouldn't you just thread your steerer?
-
• #69
meh, i don't like that one

Surprised no one mentioned the new Crank Brother' stem, personally I think it's a million mile better than the Thomson, I'd like to see it raw or entirely black though;

How have we got this far without anyone mentioning Salsa yet?
The proper ones (ie non removable face clamp ones) come up on eBay fairly frequently and they did the Ahead in drop config too.

Ooh Salsa, I'm always loving them for their skinny classic shape.
Another porn would be the Ritchey one, I always find them to be a beautiful shape had it not been for their gash logos plastered all over the damn thing;

Apparently they do polished;
Okay it's not too bad.
14 have just started making their own lugged and soon will be doing tigged and fillet brazed custom sizes and styles, i was told the other day. Not sure on prices but will be done in stainless steel.
