a beginner could hurt themselves in the dodgy icy condition during winter, if they are not expecting the lock-out/skidding these wheels make
for the sound of that post you are a hater. anyway, im going to put it out there that you will only skid if you want to. you have a massive amount of modulation with shimano ones. admittedly that other brand that slips my mind right now that most people recommend has much less modulation and is more on/off but you can still stop without skidding. and yes, i have been riding mine every day in the recent shitty snow and ice and havnt had a problem.
