I would disagree with this statement, and postulate the opposite is true. If the motorist was expecting/used to having that type of traffic they would be more observant. But then again its Streatham.

I know this is hardly a practical point but cars shouldnt really be manouvering into a stretch of road when visibility is obscured. If you cant see that it is safe to maneouver then you shouldnt really be doing it.
Lucky that this was just a dodgy back and knackered front wheel. As Kidboy says, would have been a major deal to a motorbike too.
