Anyone interested in buying a Braun AW22? Like so:
I collect old Braun stuff and I got this on ebay for £90-or-so quid, new in box. I wore it once but I don't think I'll ever wear it. It's mint other than the strap is a little bit folded where I put it through the buckle. In original box, £60 posted, I can get pics of the actual thing if people PM me.
Also I got me a Seamaster. It's a plain model circa 1960, but I like 'em plain, and it means they're cheaper too.

are you selling the seamaster? how much?

• #1756
No, but you can make me an offer if you like.

I wanted a normal looking watch that had an altimeter on and this was the geekiest analogue style watch I could find
Still happy with it after a couple of years of daily use, Great for seeing how high you are (with no degree of accuracy), the temperature (On your arm – so warmer than it really is) which way north is, and a barometer (To forecast weather with the same accuracy as the BBC)

My friend has one of these. The compass function has stopped working, much to his frustration. It's the best ~~ feature ~~ party trick after all.

so was the consensus here that buying a 48 pound seiko from singapore was totally safe?
In my experience and from my source, yes.
-
• #1763
Agreed
-
• #1764
What are these sources?
-
• #1766
thanks.
actually i have already ordered one. 48 pounds and free shipping from singapore. -
• #1767
you can buy those for about 50p in a lot of countries
-
• #1768
arrived today.
to my best knowledge, based on a link on fake seikos provided earlier in this thread, the watch is actually genuine!
and i forgot to mention that i bargained it down to 45 pounds and it seems to have cleared customs so that's nice.
only downside is that the seller forgot to shorten the bracelet before sending it even though they promised to. -

My leather strap pongs a bit. Have tried all sorts to sort it out, nothing works so far.
do you wear cologne? My watches all smell like the three sents I wear most often (YSL Le Homme, YSL Le Homme De Nuit and 2 by Comme De Garcons) luckily these sents are similar and complimentary.
I've found wrapping a watch band around a piece of cedar and leving it in a box for a few days helps pull the sent out of it a bit.
You could leave it in a box of baking soda, if it de-stinks leather shoes it should de-stink a watch band.

Longshot but does anyone have any idea where I could get a cheap pilots watch as in under £100? Dont care about functionality or movement just has to be a watch in the classic pilot style.
I expect I'll get flamed for posting a rep, but here goes...
