Wanted: Cheapest way to post wheels to Australia?

  • Ive currently been quoted £129 from parcel2go.com? Is this right?

    Please help!

  • I wouldn't have thought you'd get change out of £100 with any kind of courier company. Have you tried quoting with freight/cargo services?

  • How do I do that? Is there an option to click?

  • Here you go, I've just used these to transport some golf clubs to the brother in law in Queensland https://www.transglobal.org.uk/Default.asp
As a rough guess based on 67x67x20 dimensions you're looking at £75 including insurance up to £250 via UPS Express saver. £50 is included as standard.

I did lots and lots of searching so no need to go to P2GO, Interparcel, parcelmonkey, P4D and Parcelforce etc, I've checked and they are more expensive.
There are cheaper options via a ship container but that can take over a month or so and if the person can collect direct from a main city but you really have to look hard for those and ask for quotations generally.
Import duty isn't applicable for personal goods purchased below AU$1000, via UPS you'll need to have 4 copies of an invoice or value form with item description etc the latter of which you can print off once you've purchased the service.

    Hope that helps.

  • Thanks so much Mr Bump, much appreciated.

  • Sounds hugely expensive to me. never really thought it should be that much :-)

  • The problem is the volume of the package, so on the 67x67x20 basis that is almost 18kg as the quoted weight. It would be a lot cheaper to send a smaller package with actual greater mass.

  • Yeah they call it volumetric weight, its stupid really as the wheelset itself is pretty light. My box I think comes to 70x70x25.

  • Cheers Mr Bump, dead right, 25 or so cheaper than P2Go, a new avenue opens!

  • Courier companies are a bunch of wankers. Never liked them really :-)

Get that box cut down, it is literally costing you a bundle more for those extra cm!....lol

Jezuz Christ. Let it go. I've been with girls like that, there's no mileage in it.

  • Find someone who's sending a car over and put them in the boot...

  • Hang on. Aren't Arrospok made in Australia? Why would they need anything else?

  • What about unaccompanied baggage? Can you do that without flying? Is it any cheaper?

  • Any idea how much to post rims down under?
