I know, but it wasn't just a racist joke or stereotype. I've shared a flat with a Korean guy who was previously deported and came back again on a student visa with a new passport.
You see, a name like Ryu, can be written down using an English transcription as Lyu, Liu, Riu etc.
Oh, wasted my time explaining then :-)
