First of all, let me just say thank you for all the support and well wishes. This is truly amazing. It means so much to know that there are so many people out there thinking about Veronika. You guys are all great!
Veronika is doing well considering what she's been through. I'll give you an update in a moment. As I said, the police informed me that lfgss had been in contact, and I suspected there would be a thread about it here anyway. It was a tough read but it really buoyed me up to see so much support. I was a little upset to see one poster (who I assume works in the hospital/emergency services) revealing info about her injuries, when I hadn't allowed that to be released into the public domain as I was still in the process of contacting her family members. Anyway... all my energy is going into that hospital room right now, so that's all I'm saying on that.
Veronika is still heavily sedated in intensive care. The injuries are exclusively to her lower body and very serious. They've had to remove her left leg through the knee and we're fighting for the right. It's looking good right now, so just focusing on everything going well from now on.
Thank you very much also for the offer of flowers. That would be great, but as I said to catfood, as she's in intensive care I can't take anything from the outside in there. It might be nice to wait until she's come round a bit so she can enjoy them. Alternatively I'd be happy to accept on her behalf, and enjoy them for her.
