out of interest, you say that the revolution track frame is very heavy. what kind of weight would you be looking at for a track frame?

sorry, that last one was meant for edscoble

I had a look at a Revolution Track the other day. Looked quite nice, though I didn't pick it up so can't comment on weight. You do get brakes on it, and the money you may save on getting a Fuji Track with a few quid knocked off would have to go on a brake anyway, unless you have a deathwish.

According to the site, the bike weight 23.6lbs.
The Charge Plug is regarded as the heaviest singlespeed/fixed wheel bicycle out there standing at 22.5lbs (althought weight is moot if it ride well).
Plus manufacturer sometime tend to exaggareted the weight claim by removing a pound or two off it's actual weight.
You can find all about it in the list of all list;

What I find even more bizarre is that the Charge Plug is hi-tensile steel, whether the Revolution is 7005 alu (but with hi-tensile fork).

I've just got one, though this is a commute bike, so weight isn't a huge worry. it's already got panniers and so on.
gearing is a tad high for pulling away but makes up for it, on wider faster bits of the commute.
the factory tyres have so far resisted glass and thorns which is about as much as one can ask out of cheap factory tyres really.

Where can I buy tyres that were not made in a factory?
I'd like bespoke rubber.

Good question, possibly some tubs? but as far as i know they are all factory made though do get one man operations, though manly fixing them.
