If people want to nominate someone to collect money and receive shipment, then we can start thinking about some sort of group buy discount. Will ask what sort of discount I can get for this quantity of bikes.

I am happy to coordinate payments, and have all bikes delivered to me (I have a garage where they can be stored). All depends on the amount of discount we'd get, if that makes it worth the extra hassle involved. As well as if everyone else is happy to trust me with their money/bike.

I work in London 3-4 days a week and live in Suffolk, so it would have to be collection in central London.

These arrived in January / February (i.e. pre-burglary), and they came from an authorised Dahon dealer. Probably have an original invoice if people are worried ;)

Got a quote for shipping 1m3 for 150 notes. problem is, I don't know how many I can fit in as they're not perfect cubes or anything. If I can get 6 in there then it's 200€ + £25 in shipping. With today's shonky exchange rate we can say £195 shipped. This particular van will be doing Paris-London on 8th January.

Do those sorts of numbers sound ok?

As for sizing on the Jacks, my mate is adamant that they're one size fits all...I've even sent him a copy-paste from the dahon website, and no response.

I will let everyone know when I have space booked on the van and when I need money. I still have a UK bank account, or people can add 3% for paypal? Don't know what's best for this sort of thing.

If anyone has a van and a spare day and fancies making some money...speak up!

try copy and pasting the big list that everyone else is running from rather than a diffrent one for yourself.

I've got two of these little Dahon' folders and for tootling about, and folding up they're great- although the alu version is a better weight for carrying around. They're well made, and well thought out

The really neat bit is the pump is located in the seat post as an all in one using the post as the cylinder for the pump - the only time you see it when the end of the pump pokes out of the bottom bracket when the seat post is lowered.

The gear range is good, the gear change is slick.

The only note of hesitation from me is I live on a steep hill, and doing the downward swoop does demand some caution, as a speed wheel wobble happens in the steering (ok, there is an incredible bulk on the bike!) , so its a question of gently braking to keep the speed reasonable.

Other than that enjoy!

Sounds good to me - was expecting about £200 all in.

OK, we think the Jacks are a medium, confirmation expected shortly. I need to ship these to one address to try to keep costs down, so we need someone relatively central to volunteer to have a bunch of bikes delivered to their house / shop / whatever, and then dish out the bikes. (**EDIT **and it's Basha's kind offer that I have in mind, obviously!)

If we have somewhere to send them delivery could even be before New Year, just waiting on confirmation of availability.

The guys also wanted me to make clear that they are selling these without any form of warranty, guarantee or come-back, express or implied. They were tour bikes for one season and have had heavy use. They will probably require some attention to get them running nice and smoothly again. They are off-loading these cheaply (I think they could have made far more on ebay!!) and they are a bargain.

for those of you who want something a little racier, there are 2 Mu SLs, the lightest Dahon. Those bad boys are 1200€ new, these have been used for 12 weeks and are going for 700€. Separate thread coming!

~£200 all inclusive sounds a fair price to me. I don't have the space to offer to help with delivery/storage I'm afraid.

As mentioned above I'm happy to have them delivered to me, but as I'm not london based it would mean collection from central london in groups of 2, so would mean delivery would have to be staggered over a week or so, as I'm usually only in London Tuesday - Thursday each week.

If there's someone London based with the room, which suits others better, I'm happy for them to take delivery and to pick up from them when I'm in London.

I have a very kind offer for a lock-up Highbury and Islington, but it would need to be super organised to have everyone turning up at more or less at once to collect. Seems like it could be a little tricky to me.

If Basha's happy to bring them in over a few days, then that sounds like it could work quite well. If people could indicate whether they're happy with Basha's offer, I can book the delivery and take payment from you lot, and we can try to get them over for the New Year.
