Hi - i'm interested in this bike, but have three questions,
- are the wheels true?
- will the pedals remove, as in, are they free?
- could you give a measurement from the very centre of the cranks up to the seat post clamp (where the saddle rails are gripped) - this is to guage how much of a problem the stuck seat post would be?
I'm in Newington Green so pretty close!
Cheers - Joel

sorry, four! - whats the length of the stem?
sorry for all the questions, but I have also been a bit rash with purchases recently and have ended up with bikes/ parts that need costly modifications such as new stems etc to make them fit properly - so would want to make any furture purchases as cost efficient as possible (not including simply not buying any more bikes).

hi joel
- wheels run perfectly true
- pedals are totally free, only put them on to ride back from bike shop last week
- it's 74cm from centre of crank to the seat post clamp
- stem is 110mm
think that covers everything!
- wheels run perfectly true

excellent, thanks for getting back so quick - I'll check my bikes later to see the sizing. I'm still interested but need to have a think, if anyone else is interested in the meantime then by all means step in... Joel

Got this very nice Geoffrey Butler road bike for sale.
I picked up the frame a while back and got it built up very recently..
However a couple of rash purchases last week mean I can't really afford to keep it :-(
The frame is built from Reynolds 531c tubing and is nice and light.
The groupset is 14 speed shimano. Mostly rsx100 and 600.
Had a new chain, cassette, handlebar tape and cables fitted since it was last ridden.
I was particularly attracted to this frame because of the nice tight angles combined with mudguard braze-ons. The frame is a really nice metallic blue, loads of tiny scratches, some bigger ones, but they only show up in certain lights and the frame still looks pretty tasty.
Seat tube = 60cm c-t
Top tube = 57cm c-c
I'm 6 foot and this fits me pretty much bang on with the 170mm cranks.
The seatpost appears to have become a bit stuck in the last couple of months, but I haven't been able to have a go at it with GT85 or anything, and i'm sure it is not permanently stuck (phasergunalex @ Fitzrovia Cycles has sorted out many a stuck seatpost for me in the past!)
Anyway very nice classic British steel road bike which rides beautifully and is just waiting for a pair of mudguards to be slapped on and ridden throughout the winter!
