• Hi everyone,
I’ve just sorted out another lot of interesting frames. Shipping on frames within the UK will be £11 - other items can ship free of charge in the same box. I can ship anywhere in the world at a reasonable cost.

    ALL ITEMS ARE IN BRISTOL

Unless specifically described I do not guarantee headsets or BBs which are fitted to frames. With all frames I can fit headsets or BBs - headset fitting costs £12; please see my latest headset thread:

    http://www.lfgss.com/thread53572.html

for details of what is available.

Payment can be via bank transfer (preferred), cheque or the dreaded Paypal which costs me 3%…

** If you dib an item, please PM me and pay the same day unless you make other arrangements with me. Otherwise it may well be sold to the next person who wants it...**

Viewing/Personal collection is welcome as quite a few have found and have been able to get other parts they are looking for at the same time.

ITALIAN ROAD FRAME c1980 ** NEW AND UNUSED**
    Seat Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 55mm)
    Frame tubing: Columbus SL
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This is a really beautifully made New Old Stock Italian road frame from c1980. The head and seat lugs are beautifully pantographed with symbol of a rider on a bike - - this image is also panto’d into the fork crown and seatstay bridge. The forks are fully chromed and the rear triangle is partly chromed. All the chrome is perfect. The standard of workmanship is excellent. I can arrange painting and can prep the the frame for BB and headset fitment. This is an excellent opportunity to get a frame painted exactly how you want it. £145

HOBBS BLUE RIBAND ROAD FRAME 1960s/70s
    Seat Tube (ctt): 51cm (20in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 53cm (21in)
    Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C with brake drop of 58mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Hobbs after they stopped production of their frames continued as a wholesaler for many years - in the 1960s and 70s they had some really nice frames built by Tonard which they decalled as Hobbs Blue Riband and this is one of them. I have had a couple of these over the years and they are really nicely built Reynolds 531 double butted frames. The fork on this one is not original but is of the correct type. It would make a cool fixed or singlespeed conversion. £59 SOLD

JRJ (BOB JACKSON) ROAD FRAME early 1950s
    Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm (21.75in)
    Rear dropout width: 118mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C with brake drop of 51mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
JRJ was the the name first used by Bob Jackson when he set up in business. This frame dates from the early 1950s. The fork whilst not original is of the same type as I have seen used on other early JRJs. It could easily be used as a very cool conversion. £43 SOLD

    NONAME 1930s/40s ROAD FRAME
    Seat Tube (ctt): 52cm (20.75in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 114mm
Wheel size: 27s or 700C with 60mm brake drop
    Seatpost size: 27.0mm
This is a nicely detailed road frame from the late 1930s or 1940s which has a braze-on for a Cyclo derailleur on the chainstay. The forks are Russ pattern with a sharp offset. It will make an interesting budget restoration project. Its probably built from either Reynolds 531 butted tubing or Accles and Pollocks butted tubing judging by the seatpost diameter. £45

TOWNSEND of REDDITCH TT FRAME c1976 Spectacular head tube cutouts
    Seat Tube (ctt): 22.5in (57cm)
    Top Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm)
    Rear dropout width: 122mm
    Wheel size: 700C
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 50mm
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
In the 1970s the the time trial fashion gurus followed the likes of Alf Engers who drilled out his components and used frames with odd cutouts in the tubing combined with very short wheelbase and steep frame angles. This frame dates from that time and was originally sold by Townsends of Redditch - they did not make their own frames but commisioned framebuilders to build frames for them - many were special orders. There cannot be many more special than this one - just take a look ay the slots in the head tube - these are cut through the head tube - the yellow you see is just a plastic sleeve inside... The lugs are also drilled and as was common in the 70s very short track style rear facing dropouts with a gear hanger were used so that the rear wheel could be positioned as close as possible to the seat tube... The fork offset is so little that barspins are possible. This is one very special frame that comes complete with black Tange headset. The Stronglight BB can be sold with the frame for an additional £15. This is one really spectacular frame - its possible that it was built by Barry Chick who built Engers’ frames or possibly Dave Russell who built a number of frames in the 70s with slotted head tubes. £225 SOLD

    CANNONDALE 2.8 ROAD FRAME
Seat Tube (ctt): 59.5cm 54cm (ctc)
    Top Tube (ctc): 55cm
    Rear dropout width: 130mm
    Wheel size: 700C
Cannondale’s 2.8 series of road frames were very highly regarded in the early 90s - Cannondale had been one of the pioneers of of using oversize aluminium tubing to build light stiff frames in the 80s and with the 2.8 series took it a step further - the 2.8 name referred to the weight in pounds of the bare frame frame. This frame is in in very nice condition it has a couple of very tiny dings neither of which can be easily found and the paint is in excellent condition. £125

SHOGUN COMP ROAD FRAME 61cm c1995
Seat Tube: 58cm (centre to top of seat tube) 54.5cm (ctc)
    Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm
    Rear dropout width: 130mm
    Wheel size: 700C
    Frame tubing: 7005 Aluminium alloy
    Bottom Bracket Threads: English
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This is an extremely nice and light mid 1990s aluminium frame which has hardly been used. It is very light and is in very good condition with just a few marks to the paint. A bargain at £69

    PEUGEOT WOMENS ROAD FRAME 1980s
    Seat Tube (ctc): 49cm (19in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 51cm (20in)
    Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C (brake drop 52mm)
This is a very tidy Peugeot womens road frame from the early 1980s which would make a very easy fixed/singlespeed conversion £45

    STRADA ROAD FRAME 1970s
    Seat Tube (ctt): 57cm (22.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C (brake drop 60mm)
This is a very tidy and pretty road frame from the 1970s built with Prugnat single point lugs and a Cinelli style fully sloping fork crown - it looks as if it might have been built in the Holdsworthy factory judging by the style. It would make a very easy fixed/singlespeed conversion £89

  • Oh how would I love to have the money and extra height to by that Italian frame!

  • Do you think the Peugeot is decent tubing? How much does it weigh?
    Cheers.

Those were 'carbolite' tubing - pretty weighty compared to 531 etc- one of Peugeots lower end tube-sets.
