Man, Vikernes is a real character. He's clearly a really intelligent person, but he's come to some fairly batshit conclusions about stuff.
A friend of mine is a massive Burzum fan, and also gay. I asked him once how he managed to reconcile the fact that Varg is hugely homophobic, and that he uses his music to espouse his philosophy, more so than other musicians (making it hard to properly separate the music from the man). His reply was something along the lines of 'you can't tell what he's on about anyway, and I like the way it sounds.'
Fair enough.
