Ok fair enough.. I'm really not trying to make an unfair profit or anything, I just don't really use it so I would rather it go to someone who would get some good use out of it.
I will drop the price to £215 which I guess is fair?

Don't drop your price, it's definitely worth £250 if it's in proper condition. I was just playing the LFGSS of telling people that they're shit money grubbing bastards and we should all hold hands and give away our possessions.
p.s. i noticed that change from 210 to 215

I sold my D60 for £200, D40 should be worth less. Sorry mate.

^ this. To be honest you're better off selling it on gumtree, you'll get far less shit than you get on here.
For the record I bought a mint (only 50 shutter fires) D60 body for £100 about 2 years ago... So I think you're probably asking over the odds here. Crazy to think that such a great camera could be worth so little, but such is the way with technology.

Yep have to agree bro, looking for one for my niece,I have missed out on a few at around the £120 on the bay, although the lenses have been the same age as the camera's.

Regardless of what anyone says here if it's in mint cond it's worth 200. The only thing going against you is that it's silver finish which don't sell well. For ref. and others' ref. you can nearly always knock a shop down on price for the silver model. Conversely White models sell for more (see Lumix GF series and the famous M8 Ltd. Ed.
Call Gray's for guide price on mint models.

thank to d 600 ;)))

people will buy d40's all day long for £200. I don't see the problem. Yeah its silver, noone wants a silver plastic camera, but all tog students invariably buy one of these or a canon 100 series and move on at some point, they always have £200-300 in their pockets and are quite happy to pay.
if you get it on ebay at teh right time (e.g. no others ending at same time) you would probably see even more for it TBH. people on ebay are thick at the best of times, make the best of it ;)
Hi there,
I am selling my Digital SLR and thought it would be a good idea to post it on here where I'm sure there are some camera enthusiasts lurking.
It is a Nikon D40 body with a Nikkor 18-55mm DX lens. It has seen extremely occasional use as I much prefer film photography. Bought the lens brand new about 2 months ago so is in perfect condition. There are a few veryyy minor scratches on the body and the LCD has had a screen protector on it from when it was first taken out of the box so it is in great condition.
Sorry about the crappy phone picture!
Full specs can be seen here: http://imaging.nikon.com/products/imaging/lineup/digitalcamera/slr/d40/index.htm
I am asking for £215 for the Kit
I am based in Stoke Newington N16,
Cheers
