You have an unusual talent for combining gibberish with bullshit.

    Two words: exxon valdiz.

I used to work in the oil industry and there was a zero tolerance policy to alcohol off shore (this was after valdiz). You wouldn't have been allowed on one of our vessels or rigs if you had even a single bottle of beer in your bag.

Having said that I think lowering the bac seems like punishing the majority for the minorities actions, lowest common denominator legislation.

  • Next cyclists will have to be licensed because of all the deaths caused by cyclists ;-)

    This.

  • I worked with a chap called Nigel Crumplin one summer, delivering hire cars for Chuchfields Vehicle Rentals (now part of Enterprise Rentacar.

He was, and I don't say this lightly, the worst and most dangerous driver I have ever seen.

Driving home from a night out in one of the companies vehicles he finally spotted the blue lights in the rear view mirror.

He pulled over and the copper asked him why he'd taken 8 miles to spot the police car (with lights!) and pull over. Nigel had no answer to this- and when he blew twice the limit on the breathalyser the copper knew why.

However, this was around 2am in the morning, and the copper put the previous days date on the sample and report.

Nigel thought he was going to get off scot free, and bragged about this to us.

One of the booking girls said nothing but went home and told her uncle- who happened to be a copper.

Nigel turned up to his day in court, noisily confident, to find that the dates on the report and sample had magically corrected themselves.

He was banned for a year.

He appealed, and the judge upheld his ban and added another 6 months.

The only issue I have with this is that he should have been banned for life.

Andy- this is nothing to do with you btw, there but for the grace of god I think for me in your situation.
