  • Stolen Condor Pista? Ebay.

I would say so as it looks like the one I had stolen a few weeks ago. The front calipers (from the rather blurry photo admittedly) look as though they've had the Veloce brake blocks replaced with Chorus brake shoes, something I did a few months back. If anyone on here bought it, or knows who did, I'd be delighted if they could PM me - I have the frame number and proof of purchase from Condor to prove it's mine.

I realise this is extremely unlikely to happen, but hey. There'll be a reward in it if we sort it this way.

Have also emailed the police who say they should be able to find out from eBay who bought it.

Have you e-mailed the Cycle Task Force, eardley? Contact details here. I think they'll be specifically interested in such eBay cases.

  • Hope you get it back eardley!

  • Posting this on behalf of a friend... full details not known so please don't ask how they were locked/taken.

Stolen Bikes - Keep your eye out for x2 black S&M 38 Specials. 1 with a yellow front rim and the other with purple chainring. Stolen from N1 London - Please pass this on - Cheers Chico

These are pretty distinctive race BMX's and both are the 20" version (not the 24" cruiser).

They should look something like this built up (but with the distinctive features listed above - photo below is pulled off the interweb) but with the stickers removed from the frame...
Any sightings/info gratefully recieved. Looks like a he'll be spending most of this weekend stalking out Brick Lane.

    Cheers
    Alby

  • I'm giving this a bump, for all the best reasons. It's a lovely bike.

  • Notice theres been no sightings since wheel gate?

    Just saying.

  • Saw this video and thought what is the point of even locking your bike
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1yImVLW_Q0&feature=player_embedded#!

  • Kryptonite are not that good either
YouTube - How to steal a bike :(

  • first video - all locks are sub €30, making them about as secure as string or toffee wrappers
second video - not your everyday boltcroppers, those suckers are about 900mm long by the looks of it. Sure some thieves have them but I'd guess not many, probably just the van gangs.

  • I have some of them. £10 from a car boot. Dunno why I pay for bikes......

  • Sure people own them, and thieves use them, just saying that they're almost too big to walk around with.
More sort of pro-scumbag league than semi-pro/opportunist thief.
Like really, walking around with those croppers in your bag you'd get a spine curvature, then once you popped a lock and have a bike what do you do, push it to the nearest LBS to install a rack so you can transport your 10kg of huge and awkward to carry tools?
Not saying it doesn't happen, just saying that Fahg chain is an ok chain imo

  • These videos are absolute vomit. What are they trying to prove? That 4 shit locks don't make a good one? That Kryptonite locks are in fact NOT made of Kryptonite from the planet Krypton?

I think I might post a youtube video with one single frame that states:-

Massive croppers will beat your lock.

A brick will beat your house window.

A knife to the gut will beat your wallet.

**There is always a way for a thief to take whatever you own. **

  • Popped this on the Leeds forum, thought I would copy over here as well. From the LFS group. Bike stolen in Leeds.

Met a guy in town yesterday and he asked me to keep an eye out for his bike that had been stolen on thursday.

Unfortunately, my hangover has partially reformatted part of my memory but I know it was a full-sus Kona - I think a stinky?

    Like this: [COLOR=#3b5998]http://www.outdoorhuman.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/5e06319eda06f020e43594a9c230972d/2/k/2k10_stinky6.jpg

Anyway - if you spot any being sold under sketchy circumstances give me a shout.

    Cheers

  • Thanks for the support guys. It's all quiet on the frame. Still checking everyday at the usual places. It's got to surface sooner or later and someone's going to want to show it off. Still have hope and my mate who got it nicked has coughed up half the replacement costs with the rest coming in Jan so thats a result as well.

My PW belt drive rear hub with fixed/free sprockets arrived from the USA today so now have all the bits for my belt drive project. Building that up should make me feel better, and rest assured no bugger is borrowing that!

    Have a great holiday

  • Pinarello - Stolen for sure....
    http://www.gumtree.com/london/62/70386462.html

Not stolen, just not a Pinarello was up for sale on here not so long ago.

  • Not stolen, just not a Pinarello was up for sale on here not so long ago.

My bad. The fact they have no idea about the components and are also trying to sell the wheels separately as a 'Continental Wheelset' seemed to ring a bell. That 'Blooks' seat looks nice whatever....

  • I think it was advertised as badly on the classifieds here

  • thanks Pifko, forgotten how much lolz there was!

  • Course it is, one of those John Deere specials with all the bits..possibly unique, made in nottingham...ciao

  • Grr, another nicked bike. My 09 Fuji Track was pinched from the yard outside my flat last night at about 11:30. Just got home, parked it up in the yard, and nipped to Londis on Commercial Road, 15 seconds away. I closed the 10 foot iron gate behind me, but it turns out the lock is more than a bit crap and opens pretty easily.

Got back 3 minutes later, bike gone. Helpful cabby who was parked outside said he saw 3 guys go into the yard and come out with it, making off east down Commercial Road. No sign of them though. Police have been informed, but I don't hold out too much hope...
