Much sympathy with the OP. Very similar thing happened to me in the summer. I landed on my face, bent my front wheel, busted my helmet and scratched up my watch. Also dislocated my finger which will take at least 6 months and two lots of physio a week to straighten.
The worst of it was that the ped didn't even notice me and there were so many people trying to help me after that I couldn't catch up with her. So no redress.
